説教あらすじ 「『もっと優れたもの』を待ち望む信仰」 (10/03/2024)
[へブル人への手紙 １１章３２～４０節]
◆この世における祝福
・今日の前半部分では、「国々を征服する」「剣の刃を逃れる」など、『この世での祝福』が列記されている。つまり 旧約聖書の時代には「永遠のいのち」とか「天の御国」などの概念があまり無かった。そのためイエスの時代の 『メシア』の概念も、「ローマを打ち破り、『イスラエル王国』を回復してくれるヒーロー」のイメージが強かった。
・ところが[３５節]から少し雰囲気が変わる。「もっとすぐれたよみがえりを得るために、釈放されることを拒んで拷問を受けた」とあり、その後にむごい迫害の歴史が列記される。では、一体彼らは何に希望を置いてこのような 迫害を耐え忍んだのか？
◆もっとすぐれたもの（３８～４０節）
・ここで『信仰』というものの本質をもう１度考えてみたい。それは、決して「その場しのぎ」な一過性のものではなく「『真実なお方である神』に対して誠実に生きる」という、私たちの継続した『神に対する心の表現』である。
・ここに書かれている『もっとすぐれたもの』とは、主イエスにある『天の御国への希望』である。この１１章に列記された信仰の先人たちは地上でこれらのものを体験することはなかった。しかし私たちは既にそれを得ている！ならば神は私たちに、彼ら以上の「信仰と勇敢さ」をもって歩むことを期待しているのではないか？最後に、激しい迫害の中で常に「福音宣教の働き」に前進した使徒パウロのことばを引用しよう。[Ⅱテモテ１：12，ピリピ３：7-8, 12]
◎更に深い学びのために
①なぜイエスの時代の人々は、『メシア』という存在を「王国を回復してくれるヒーロー」と考えていたのでしょう？
②「迫害を耐え忍んだ人々」の原動力は何だったと思いますか？ あなたは、同じ原動力を持っていますか？
③へブル１１章の信仰者たちには無くて、私たちには既に与えられているものを確認し、感謝の時を持ちましょう。
Outline of the sermon “Wait upon ‘something better’ by faith.” (10/03/2024)
[Hebrews 11：32～40]
◆Blessings on the earth.
・First few verses here witness about blessings those believers experienced on the earth. In Old Testament
period, they were not yet expecting “eternal life” or “kingdom of heaven” so the concept of “Messiah” for
them was like “a king who leads Israelites to defeat Rome”. That’s why they got disappointed in Jesus.
・In verse 35, it says “so that they might rise again to a better life”, then it lists persecutions they experienced.
How did they persevere in these? What kind of hope made them through?
◆Something better.（Verses ３８～４０）
・“Real faith” is not just for “one-off” situation. It is our “on-going trust” towards God who is faithful to us.
“Faith” makes us to seek God more, and “knowing God more” leads us to deeper trust in God.
・They were seeking “something better” which are like, “eternal life” or “hope of heaven”. And we have
already got them! Doesn’t God expect more “faith and courage” in us if we already have these superb
blessings? Let’s see how apostle Paul said as he always went forward for his mission even through the
severe oppositions. [ⅡTimothy１：12，Philippians ３：7-8, 12]
