Outline of the sermon     “Baptism ― An expression of love”   (19/05/2013)

◆ Why some people hesitate to get baptized?

・They are happy to take 「Communion」 but not 「Baptism」 even though these two have same meaning before God. = They are both 「privilege」 and 「command」 for those who confess that Jesus is the Lord.

・People take 『Baptism』 more seriously maybe because they do it only once in their lifetime.

◆ Anything common between 『Baptism』 and 『Marriage』?

・「Accepting Jesus as personal Savior」 is like 「Accepting proposal for marriage」!

It’s not 「getting married because of love」 but 「loving because got married」. (by Ayako Miura)

・It is all about our decision to 「Never give up walking together」, but should never be 「A feeling of love」.

That is why God gave us 『free-will』. (There is neither compulsion nor trial in it.)

◆ Faith walk is not easy.

・There are troubles in our faith walk just as we have troubles in our marriage(to keep loving). [ⅡTimothy 3:12]

But Jesus said; [John 16:33] He is always with us to overcome these troubles.

◆ Significant difference between 『Faith walk』 and 『Marriage』.

・We believe in the Lord Jesus、 but not a human.  He will never betray you nor give you up.

・Relationship with Jesus can never fail unless we give up.  Even then, Jesus never blame us but wait for us

instead until we repent and come back to him.

☆ To those who get baptized today, be aware that you have made “the best decision ever”
