説教あらすじ　　　「神が誇りとなさる人々」　　　(21/01/2024)

[へブル人への手紙 １１章１３～１６節]

◆神が誇りに感じる人とは？

　・[１６節]の言葉は、いわば神様が「わたしは『彼らの神』であることを誇りに思う」とおっしゃっている、ということ。では、神は一体どのような人々を「ご自身の誇り」とされるのか？

　・この世の常では、何らかの業績を上げた時に「誇りとされる」わけだが、神の場合はそうではないようだ。アブラハムやイサク、ヤコブは決して「完全無欠の人々」ではなかった。すなわち、この栄誉は「行ない・業績」によるのではなく、『信仰』によるのだ。では、どんな「信仰」？

　①まだ手に入れていない『約束のもの』を「見る」信仰。[１３節]

　・これは、主イエスの生涯にも見られる。[へブル１２：2] 彼らは「神は約束を必ず守る方だ」と信じて疑わなかった。

◆天の故郷

　②天の故郷に憧れる信仰。[１６節]

　・この『天の故郷』は「約束の地カナン」と同様、「神がご自身を信頼する者のために備えた最善の場所」。そこに憧れるのは、「神はいつも最善をなさる良いお方だ」という信仰の表明以外の何ものでもない。

　・私たちは『天の故郷』で御父と永遠を過ごす。そのことより「地上に置いてきたもの」に対する未練が大きいなら、『天の故郷』はさほど魅力的ではないかも…[Ⅰヨハネ２：15-16] 「天の故郷への憧れ」を育てるのは、日々の御父との交わりである。

◎更に深い学びのために

　①「神が誇りとなさる人」とは、どんな人でしょうか？ どうして神はそのような人を『誇り』と感じるのでしょう？

　②主イエスは、何故「信仰の創始者であり完成者」と呼ばれるのだと思いますか？

　③「天の故郷への憧れ」とは、どんなものに基づいていますか？ それを強めたり弱めたりするものは何ですか？

[Hebrews 11：13～16]

◆What kind of people does God feel proud of？

　・In this world we are proud of those who made great achievements.  But what about God？ He seems to be

  proud of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob but they are not necessarily very respectful people.  They are significant

  in their “faith” rather than “achievements”.  So what kind of “faith” did they have then？

　①“Faith” to see the things promised but not yet received.[Verse１３]

　・We can find the same kind of faith in the life of Christ. [Hebrews１２：2]  They believed that God would never break His promise.

◆Heavenly homeland.

　②“Faith” to desire their heavenly homeland.[Verse１６]

　・This “heavenly homeland” is the ultimate place God has prepared for those who put their trust in Him.  When

  we express our desire for this place, we are confessing that “Our God is good and always do the best to us”！

　・We are not too sure what “our heavenly homeland” exactly is like.  But one thing is for sure.  We will spend

  eternity with “heavenly Father” there.  If we have more attachment to “worldly things” than this, our Father

  wouldn’t be proud of us. [ⅠJohn ２：15-16]  We grow in this desire through our daily fellowship with “the Father”.

◎Questions to ponder on:

　①What kind of people is God proud of？  Why do you think God is proud of these people？

　②Why is Jesus called, “the founder and perfector of our faith”？

　③Our desire for “heavenly homeland” is based on what？  And how is it strengthened or weakened？
