説教あらすじ　　「How great is our God！」　　(31/03/2024)

[詩篇 ８章３～４節]

◆神はとんでもなく偉大である！

　・私たちが「人として来られた神の子イエス」を身近に感じることは良いことだが、それが高じると「神の大きさ・偉大さ」を見落としてしまいがち。今日は改めて「私たちの神がどれほど偉大な方なのか」に思いを馳せてみよう。

　・私たちは皆、神は「全宇宙の創造主」であることを知っているが、その『全宇宙』の壮大さをどれほど知っているだろう？例えば『太陽』は地球から見るとちっぽけだが、実はその大きさは地球の約１００万倍もある。他にも宇　　宙には太陽よりもはるかに大きな星がたくさんあり、現在見つかっている星々の中でも最大と言われている『ケイネス・マジョアス』という星は、地球がゴルフボールの大きさだとすると、その直径がエベレスト山の高さに匹敵し、それは日本の国土全体にゴルフボールを５０メートルの深さまで埋め尽くせるほど大きいということになる。

◆神はこのちっぽけな私たちを心にかけておられる！

　・聖書はこれらの全宇宙を「神のほんの指のわざである」と言う。一体私たちが『神』と呼んでおられる方は、どれほどに大いなる方なのだろうか？そして忘れてはならないのは、これほどに驚くほど偉大なお方が、弱くてちっ　　ぽけな私たち１人１人に目を留め、憐れんで、その救いのためにひとり子を遣わし、その『十字架とよみがえり』によって今日もご自身との個人的な交わりへと招いてくださっている、ということである。

　・今年のイースターは、このように偉大な方が『私たちの味方だ』ということを深く心に刻みましょう。[ローマ８：31]

◎更に深い学びのために

　①「神を身近に感じすぎること」は、どんな危険性を含んでいますか？

　②宇宙はどれほど壮大なものですか？　今回のたとえを思い出しながら、改めて思い描いてみましょう。

　③これほど偉大な方が、あなたを顧みておられると知ることは、あなたの信仰にどんなインパクトを与えますか？

[Psalm 8：3～4]

◆Our God is incredibly awesome！

　・Sometimes we feel “God” too close to us so we tend to forget how great He actually is.  Let us stop and

  think of “greatness of God” today.

　・We all know that “our God created all the universe” but do we really understand how big “the universe” is？　

  “The sun” looks tiny when we see it from the earth, yet it is a million times bigger than the earth.  And there

  are thousands of stars far bigger than the sun in the universe.  One of the biggest star which is called, “Canis

  Majoris” is so huge.  If the earth is golf ball size, diameter of “Canis Majoris” is almost like the height of Mt

  Everest！

◆Our God is mindful of “tiny” like us！

　・Bible says that this universe is “just a work of God’s fingers”.  How great is our God then？  And this same

  God has been mindful of each one of us, having mercy on us and sent his only Son, Jesus, to die and rise again

  for our salvation.  So let us turn our thoughts to God’s greatness this Easter and rejoice that we have such

  “Great God” standing for us！ [Romans ８：31]

◎Questions to ponder on:

　①“Feeling God too close” can cause what kind of misunderstanding？

　②Can you imagine how big the universe is？  Then how great is the one who created it？

　③What kind of impact can you get when you turn your thought to “this great God” being mindful on you？
